Finally the time has come to place craft cannabis alongside fine wine and other HIGH class comestibles.
The inaugural Mendocino Craft Farmers Auction will be held on July 16th in the picturesque Anderson Valley in Southern Mendocino County. Fashioned upon the famous Napa Valley Wine Auction, a group of small sungrown craft cannabis farmers in Mendocino County have taken up the cause, in every sense of the word.
This private invitation only event is intended to raise funds for the local Redwood Community Services Crisis Response division. This is an opportunity for the cannabis community of Mendocino to give back to the broader community and the County, while at the same time raising consciousness about the high quality of the cannabis produced here and the incredible people who produce it.
This first-of-its-kind event is produced by the Mendocino Cannabis Alliance (MCA) and the Mendocino Producers Guild (MPG). It will take place at The Brambles, a lovely venue nestled in the redwoods and owned by Jim Roberts and Brian Atkinson of Bohemian Chemist brand of cannabis products. Several noteworthy farms from the region will be represented, and farmers will be on hand to share knowledge about the benefits of Sungrown cannabis.
The affair will start in the late afternoon when guests can explore items featured both on the silent and live auctions, sip local wines from Maple Creek Winery and sample some of the finest cannabis in the world, shared by Mendocino farmers. An old-fashioned “cigarette girl” will be strolling through the guests, offering freshly rolled joints on her tray.
An elegant supper will follow catered by Chef Dan Hagopian of Sonoma Market. The Live Auction will kick off during dessert, to be followed by dancing under the stars and the redwoods with music provided by DJ Mo Magic, herself a small farmer from Covelo in northeastern Mendocino.
Auction items will include rare opportunities such as visits and overnight stays at some of the top local cannabis producers farms, health and wellness experiences, fine dining and adventures in our world-famous wilderness. Other items offered will include locally made crafts, gift certificates from local businesses, farm products and more. Generous donors should not be surprised if their generosity is matched by growers who want to share from their Private Reserve for a truly unique and coveted experience!
This will be a great way for visitors to discover the eclectic wonders of Mendocino County. If you have ever wondered what it is like in the Emerald Triangle and why their cannabis is claimed to be the best in the world, this is the perfect opportunity to find out, while having fun and donating to a very worthy cause.
The Mendocino Craft Farmers Auction is a private event with attendance limited to 150. If you are interested in receiving an invitation to this tax deductible event, contact nikkijiturtle@gmail.com.
This truly sounds like a memorable gathering that will no doubt become an annual event to honor the plant we all love so much and to share that love with the local community.
