Another star child of the cannabis industry, Stevie Wonder is a sativa-dominant named after the musician/ producer who has never been shy about his love for cannabis medicine. Stevie influenced so many people with his music that even Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz sang a few “painfully terrible” lines of a Stevie song at a presidential forum on CNN. Something tells me Ted isn’t the biggest supporter of the legal cannabis industry, though.

Genetics

Stevie Wonder has a prestigious lineage, being a hybrid of award-winning strains Trainwreck, Sensi Star, Bubba Kush and Blueberry. With an average of 19-24% THC, this heady sativa strain is definitely not for the newbie looking for more mild medication and treatment.

Appearance/ Taste/ Aroma

Isn’t she lovely? Why yes, she most certainly is. The thick, frosty, dark green Stevie Wonder flowers look very lovely. Crystals and red hairs cover the dense buds. The celebrated extended family of the Stevie Wonder strain is what gives it its unique appearance that resembles a sugar coating.

The intact flowers smell earthy and a bit sweet, with more sweet, fruity flavors coming through after grinding. The taste of the Stevie Wonder strain has been reported to be citrusy, piney and earthy, with a hint of diesel. Be careful with this one, though. Many users have described smoke from the Stevie Wonder strain to be pretty harsh and cause dry mouth. It’s important to stay hydrated and perhaps medicate with a vape or edibles with this one, especially if you’re a cannabis newbie.

Medicating Effect

Due to its sativa genes, users report the medicating effect of Stevie Wonder to be sharply cerebral, often focused on the eyes and temples initially. The head high seems to give energy and an uplifting, productive effect to some users, while doing the opposite to others. Even though it’s subtle, the indica in the Stevie Wonder strain does help a little to relax the body.

Seasoned patients report the Stevie Wonder strain is good for treating migraines, muscle spasms, upset stomach, mild aches and pains and stress relief. Many users seem to think the Stevie Wonder strain would be good for medicating in the morning and getting on with your day, or used socially for good conversation while listening to a Stevie record.

For the cannabis connoisseur, this is definitely one to try. For the occasional user, perhaps there are better choices on the legal cannabis market today until you’re good and ready for the Wonder.
